About Us

Welcome to our site!

We are Niamh and Paul, a couple in our late twenties from the little island of Ireland and we have decided to pack in the rat race of the 9 to 5 for something a little more adventurous, for a few months at least!

​

Often there is never the ‘right’ time or a ‘good’ time to do certain things in life, especially when family and friends ask about how the house hunting is going, an assumption routinely made at our age but sometimes you just have to go against the grain and do what’s right for you and that’s exactly what we have decided to do.

​

Paul was granted his year career break from secondary teaching and I decided to quit the pharmaceutical Industry and motorway traffic for a while to leave everything behind. Well, not everything, we brought each other, our cabin size backpacks and money we had saved from living back home with our parents (Thanks Mam and Dad!).

​

We are starting our travels in Rotterdam, visiting an old friend, continuing on towards Eastern Europe, towards Asia and hopefully on to South America but to be honest, who knows where we will end up!

​

We have created this blog to share with you our stories, all the them yet to be lived but I am sure there will be copious amounts as the months, flights, bus rides and train journeys rolls in.  We encourage you to comment, ask questions and when the wi-fi permits, we will do our best to reply.
